Trump Freaky-Fridays Democrats

Sympathy for the RINOs

Jeffrey Denny

Trump has transmogrified politics in yet another way:

He conjured up a Freaky Friday where Democrats switch bodies with old-school Republicans they once hated and develop respect and understanding. For instance:

Lionizing Liz Cheney

Her warmongering father is among the Democrats’ Top Ten Pariahs. She voted with Trump 93% of her congressional career. She represents a bloody red Trump white state that imposes white minority rule on our diverse country. Until her J6 hearings and party defenestration, Cheney was a House GOP leader, rising star, and influential ideological conservative.

Democrats love villains who become heroes, like in superhero comics, for instance, Catwoman, because it suggests redemption. Even if that’s a Christian thing that many Democrats scoff at.

Being Manchin-curious

No shame, Democrats. You’re just exploring your politics.

While progressive Democrats hate moderate Senate Democrat “Coal Joe” Manchin for power-tripping by representing his deplorable West Virginia constituency, it’s ok to fantasize that someone like Manchin who can consistently win a Trump state might be just the faux Republican we need to protect the White House from more Trump.

Manchin approved Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act with climate action, corporate tax reform and lower drug costs, allowing Democrats to head into the 2022 midterms with a major win to run on in spite of, but also leveraging, progressive carping. Another zero to hero in nothing flat!

Showing Mercy for Mitch

Bleeding-heart Democrats now pity their longstanding Political Enemy #1, Senate Majority Leader McConnell, after Trump victimized him and his wife.

“Why do Republicans Senators allow a broken down hack politician, Mitch McConnell, to openly disparage hard working Republican candidates for the United States Senate,” Trump posted on Truth Social for fools, haters and the disturbed. “This is such an affront to honor and to leadership.”

Ever the presidential gentleman, Trump added, “He should spend more time (and money!) getting them elected, and less time helping his crazy wife and family get rich on China!”

McConnell’s affront? He had the unmitigated gall to utter the obvious, that Trump’s Senate candidates were losers, even though he knew Trump loves the truth like Dracula loves a sun-soaked Caribbean vacay.

See what McConnell gets for being honest? No wonder he avoids it!

Even the liberal Socialist mainstream fake news CNN defended McConnell. Sign of the Apocalypse?

Defending, not defunding, Blue Lives

Sure, Democrats would have preferred that social workers had asked politely if they could come to see Mr. Trump, sit down with him, and ask in a non-aggressive, sensitive, therapeutic way if he had intentionally or accidentally purloined any highly classified official documents because he believed he was above the law and rules.

In other words, not like bad cops treat poor nonwhites who are suspected of lifting a pack of Wrigley’s from the corner bodega.

But after the insensitive jack-booted gestapo FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, Democrats whose communist parents and grandparents who feared and hated the FBI that tracked Dr. Martin Luther King are now allies of the FBI.

Hating cancel-culture

Progressive Democrats are finding common cause with regressive Republicans when it comes to censoring.

Both want to cancel speech that triggers and traumatizes them, although with different motivation. Democrats want culture to be “woke.” Republicans want to put culture to sleep like unwanted pound puppies.

Loving freedom

Trump, the poor MAGAs he uses, and his goose-stepping Grand New Party love to declare how they love freedom more than the Democrats.

But from the overwhelming and bipartisan Kansas vote that rejected government dictatorship of reproduction, it seems that Democrats agree with Republicans that government shouldn’t be taking away our liberties.

Was this Trump’s secret strategy all along?

Did he intend to Freaky Friday Democrats to become like old Republicans to bring decent Americans together in mutual understanding and bind up our nation’s wounds?

Is that why Trump said he was better than Lincoln? And he was courageously willing to suffer liberal crucifixion and sacrifice his brand?

Is Trump truly the second coming of Jesus, as millionaire megachurch Christian preachers and their flocks declared?

If so, I’ll confess, I never saw it coming.
